Aula Universität Zürich, Zürich
We don’t understand phenomena directly; rather, we understand them on the basis of certain representations, such as models, explanations and theories, which purport to account for some of the aspects of the phenomena that we aim to understand. However, it should be clear that accounts of phenomena cannot provide understanding if they are not intelligible. Drawing on recent literature, this lecture will examine how accounts must be grasped in order to provide understanding of phenomena. Lecture Language: English ---- You can’t attend in person?
